Your child's vision is important and according to the American Optometric Association (AOA), infants should have their first comprehensive eye exam at 6 months of age. Children age 3 should be seen and then seen again at age 5 or 6 or before entering school.
Once in school, the AOA recommends an eye exam every two years if no problem are apparent.
Children who need eyeglasses or contact lenses should be examined annually.
School vision screenings alone can not find all vision problems. Children can pass a screening at school and still have vision problems that can affect their school performances. Dr. Levy can detect vision problems a school screening may miss. He will also evaluate your child’s eye health, which is not preformed in school vision screenings.
Contacts lenses can be worn by children of certain ages. Dr. Levy specializes in hard to fit contacts and may be able to fit your child. Contact our office to make a vision appointment for you child today.
